Weird Skeletons Discovered In The Basement Of An Old Home In London
In 2006, a sealed basement was uncovered beneath a London orphanage. Inside were hundreds of large crates that collectively contained thousands of nightmarish artifacts, otherworldly specimens and mysterious diaries. The items ranged from strange to disturbing and you can see some of them in the pictures below. But be warned! They’re pretty creepy.
The items are now known as the Merrylin Cryptid Collection. The name comes from the man to whom they belonged, a Crypto-naturalist, Fringe Zoologist and Xeno-Archeologist (got that?) named Thomas Theodore Merrylin. Born in England (Hellingshire. Where else?) in 1782 to a rich aristocrat and biologist, Merrylin dedicated his life to the collection and study of these weird and wonderful (but mainly weird) specimens. Are they real? Are they fake? We have no idea. All we know for sure is that they’re kind of odd. And kind of cool.
UPDATE: Turns out these creepy artifacts are actually the creations of Alex CF, a London-based illustrator, writer, and sculptor. You can find more of his amazing work here.
